I1.4 Power Electronics for Medium Voltage Drive:

  • Abstract: Multi-level power electronics circuits are rapidly advancing in capability, quantity, power levels and importance to our society.  Now that power conversion technology has assumed such a critical role in today’s economy, it is important that companies in this sector remain innovative, vital and committed.  Toshiba International Corporation believes that it is necessary to contribute to power electronics with a dynamic local presence, serving customers in many global markets.  Established in the United States for over fifty years we remain committed to serving our customers and creating jobs for engineers in manufacturing, design, and technology development in power conversion.  Contributing to a wide variety of mission critical power electronic products, this crucial technology will remain a rich source of economic growth and technology advancement.  In this session, we will discuss some of the challenges and opportunities that present themselves in designing and manufacturing multi-level Medium Voltage Drives as well as many other products that are changing our world.
